About Responsibility

이번 주 강의를 하면서 한 단어에 집중하게 되었다. 일전에 concern이라는 단어가 가지는 뜻의 의미에 대해서 한참동안 생각했던 것처럼.
이번엔 보통 책임(감)이라는 의미로 쓰이는 responsibility. 이 단어를 살펴보면,응답하다, 대답하다라는 respond, response, 거기에 능력을 의미하는 어미인 a(i)bility가 붙는다.
대답하는, 응답하는 능력이 책임감이라는 말로 귀결된다는 것이 가지는 의미는, 소통하라는 정언명령으로 들린다. 나도, 누구도.
